It shows the number of Hindu temples, their income and its distribution by the Government of Karnataka for the years 1997 to 2002. Interesting to see that within those 5 yrs.: - the number of temples decreased by ca. 5 %, but - the temple revenues have risen about 30 %, but - the expenditures for the temples sunk for about 40 % - the investments from these revenues to Muslim projects (Hajj pilgrimage, madrassas, etc.) have risen for about 500 % (69 % of all revenues in 2002), and - the investments from these temple revenues to Christian projects (churches, etc.) have risen for about 300 %. No wonder that the temples are in such a bad shape and they cannot spend so much on social projects. And then there are some people in the West believing that Islam and Christianity are oppressed in India.
