V ps my use of the terms old world and new world refer more to mindsets than to geographical locations. SUFFOCATION OR DEDICATION? By Vrndavan Parker Over the centuries the United States of America has been the new home for many old world immigrants. Many of these immigrants were fleeing atrophied systems and rigid societies. In many cases the very nature of these societies suffocated the natural growth of its member communities. Any time efforts or movements developed as a challenge to the status quo the response was generally negative. Many of these efforts and movements could not blossom until they were transplanted to America. Yet unfortunately representatives of the status quo challenged this blossoming and growth. Intent on removing any future challenges to their grip on power back in the home country, shrill campaigns were launched. Unfortunately these attacks not only threatened the targeted groups but they also threatened the very essence of the American ideals of freedom, fair-play and equality. A brief overview of the current Indian-American condition reveals a perfect example of Old World suffocation of New World dedication and inspiration. America itself is not perfect and neither is India. But the potential of an awakened America, strong physically and economically and a culturally strong reinvigorated India, working together, presents a hopeful vision of the future. Ironically it is the imperfections of America and its foundation on the ethnic cleansing, forced religious conversions and genocide of the original Americans that is at the heart of the matter. After hundreds of years of oppressive and inhumane approaches to conflict resolution America paradoxically is now the home to a resurgence of nearly every indigenous tradition on the planet. It is a good and great thing that Hindus from India can blossom here. It is a bad and shameful thing that some so-called Hindus attack this blossoming despite it being a natural expression within the framework of American society. AMERICAN INDIANS INDIAN AMERICANS The irony of ironies is that in a America built on the forced conversion, ethnic cleansing, physical and cultural genocide, destruction and takeover of sacred sites, stimulated inter-tribal violence, economic and agricultural destruction of native methodologies we now find American Hindus being attacked for making a stand against forced conversions, ethnic cleansing, physical and cultural genocide, inter-ethnic rivalries and the destruction and takeover of sacred Hindu sites. It is a tragic irony that these very same Hindus are being savaged as culturally suffocating Nazi-like hate mongers. In America's own tragic history we find the same method was used repeatedly against the Native American Indian traditionalists. Every crime perpetuated by the non-natives upon the natives was blamed upon those "stubborn, anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-progressive retro throwbacks”. Great Indian leaders like Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse and Tecumseh, refused to turn against the ways of their ancestors. Similarly, throughout the Americas natives were divided into the ‘progressives’ and the ‘traditionalists’. Of course the traditionalists were not labeled as such but rather were labeled as hate mongers, racists, extremists, warmongers, malcontents, bad Injuns, Satanists, lost souls, heretics, lawbreakers etc. Some natives recognizing obvious faults in their own traditions attempted reformations from within their own indigenous cultural context. However any self empowered attempts at Reformation based on the indigenous genius and traditions were immediately labeled and targeted for destruction. These efforts were generally led by the so-called progressive Indians and their allied governments and clergyman. Again we see history repeat itself as the greatest attacks on the Hindu renaissance are always led by fellow Hindus and Indians. ASSIMILATE AND DIE Some natives attempted a blend of native and western society. In this they hoped to survive and maintain their freedom and dignity. Thus we see the grand experiment of the Cherokee nation headed by Sequoia, John Ross and others. Creating an "Indian society" that was equal to white society they published newspapers, converted to Christianity, opened schools, churches, post offices, had a republican form of government, a legislature, and even created their own written language. Yet it was only John Ross' 'whiteness' and knowledge of US law that gave him any leverage. Still when it was all said and done these 'progressive Indians' were ethnically cleansed and forced at gunpoint to join the infamous 'Trail of Tears'. Thus we see no amount of conversion nor assimilation ever serve the cause of Indigenous freedom. Now 200 years later we find the same exact tragedy being repeated. Despite these ‘progressive Indians’ joining the US military in the slaughter of their own traditionalist brethren in the name of stability and progress we find the same result. Once the ‘traditionalist Indians’ and those dedicated to their culture were eliminated, these progressives were the next to find their heads on the chopping block. Those who present themselves as scholars yet are blind to such realities as obvious as world history cannot be taken very seriously. The logic defying disconnect between reality and the views of the so-called secular Hindu is startling and a case study of prejudice. GANDHI IS NOT GOD Many times academicians and politicians assume that merely presenting the views of Mahatma Gandhi or other stalwarts is enough. The fact is Gandhi like many of us was an imperfect yet sincere individual whose legacy lives on. Yet like America's founding fathers, Gandhi was not God. He was a man and he had his faults. As an example George Washington the first president of the United States of America was no doubt a gentleman yet he also owned over 200 slaves, supported the conversion, the assimilation and outright massacre of American Indians and was also a pot grower. Yet George Washington gave his all to create a nation that has allowed millions from around the world to prosper in the truly beneficial society that is America. In the same way, Gandhi's policies were not always perfect. In fact his inability to unite all Indians regardless of religion is a lingering problem to this day. Many Indian Muslim freedom fighters were very uncomfortable with Gandhi’s style and this led to a greater call for the creation of the Muslim league and eventually Pakistan. So the idea that ‘if Gandhi said it than it must be perfect’ is not always helpful or necessary. In the end it was Gandhi’s Bhakti, for both his Motherland and for Bhagavan, which made him a true Mahatma. PRIDE, RELIGION AND OTHER THINGS The majority of those that attack the Sangha and other traditionalist Hindu activists fall into the category of the ambivalent Hindu. They speak of the joy and comfort they feel at festivals or temples. They speak of the pleasure they feel at family ceremonies or the depth of their emotions experienced at Hindu funerals, weddings, inaugurations etc. They see it as some kind of private personal thing like sex or bathing. They give pronouncements that Hindu culture is indeed a very crucial and vital part of society. They're proud of ancestors that built temples, bathing ghats, go-shalas, dharmshalas etc. Indian Muslims are no strangers to boasting of the Hindu temples built by their ancestors. However some see any attempts to promote and empower their allegedly beloved culture through public education or through governmental assistance or organized fashion as fascistic and dangerous. This interesting character will gladly join a boisterous event glorifying a sports team, movie star, pop star, TV show or sometimes even the Nation. They will wholeheartedly participate in functions that are designed to enliven and inspire such as parties, family events, graduations and other such celebrations. Recognizing that such events add an element of healthy pride, sense of accomplishment and instill hope for the future, people gladly participate and attend such functions. Yet again in a brilliant display of illogic and with a disconnect of gargantuan proportions the ambivalent Hindu says, "Any Hindus who regularly gather with their peers in an effort to stimulate a healthy pride, sense of accomplishment and hope for the future are practicing hate and intolerance." Not only is this illogical it is a clear example of the atrophied old world prejudice being applied as a weapon against the free practice of one of our most valuable constitutional and traditional rights i.e. the freedom to assemble. BODY PARTS OR SOMETHING ELSE? These same individuals have no problem with the efforts of various interest groups to represent their own views, community needs and perspectives. Thus we see the great dichotomy and imbalance of the media, academic and governmental support for people’s sexual identities while at the same time denying any support for the cultural needs of the traditional communities. In their view, the insatiable demands of our collective genitalia far outweigh the vital longings of our collective heart. In other words the Hindu’s call for justice and equal treatment are considered as hate yet society’s demands for free and unrestricted sex are considered worthy and correct. The fact is, humanities sexual urges are an important concern but they can never outweigh the sacred longings of humanity’s collective heart. What one does with their heart should be valued above and beyond all else. What has been labeled as Religion is in reality Love. Yet today’s societies empower our lust and attempt to discredit our Love and label it as Religion. COMPASSION FOR ALL OR ELSE Some speak of “Compassion for All.” Strangely they ignore their own lack of compassion in their efforts to demonize those Americans and others that make up the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh. True compassion calls for honest appraisals and recognition of others' rights to be respected and not defamed for being who they are. True compassion encourages everyone’s right to celebrate their lives and recognized traditions regardless of any other considerations. Many speak glowingly of the ideal India. They speak of unity without regard to race or religion. They'll speak of fairness and equality without regard to caste or class. Yet they deny that these very same ideals are at the heart of the RSS and other such Hindu activist organizations. As an organization the Sangha is dedicated to an Indian India. When 85% of a reality is staring you in the face one must be blind or confused to ignore it. Since 85% of India is Hindu it makes sense that Hindu and India just might have something to do with each other. An honest and successful Indian group would require a strong Hindu element in order to be an authentic representation of India. And because India is not legally 100% Hindu, the Sangh developed a very inclusive view on what a Hindu is. In this humane view a Hindu is an Indian an Indian is a Hindu regardless of race, religion and many times even Nationality. One can not take the Hinduness out of an Indian and thus India-ness means Hindu. INDIA-NESS GOOD FOR TIBET BUT BAD FOR INDIA? Unfortunately many anti-Hindu writers and their comrades turn this inclusiveness into hate. This is a testament to the power of the oft-repeated lie. Yet these lies can be easily exposed when we admire the current President of India, Dr. Kalam or the BJP Chairman Naqvi, two great Indian Muslims who truly understand India. They recognize that Hindu civilization is the unique and life-affirming Indian foundation of India. Despite inaccurate and dishonest attempts to divorce Shramanic and Brahmanic traditions we see that it is the Hindu ethos that is facilitating Tibet's Buddhist culture. Rather than a new phenomenon, Hindu India is simply maintaining its ancient tradition of inclusiveness and its continuity as the home of Buddhism. Any negativity in this regard is simply in the eyes of the beholder. Indian is the Mother. Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism and Hinduism are the children. Indeed such a thing as sisters and brothers with love for each other is not unheard of, despite some squabbling along the way. Regarding Tibet, India is not the only country in the region yet the Dalai llama fled Chinese Communist aggression and remains in India to this day. If it were an Islamic ethos or Christian ethos or the Marxists and Maoists that were capable of hosting, facilitating and preserving Tibetan Shramanic culture we would have seen it by now. Rather we see the opposite attitude towards Buddhism with the latest example being displayed with Communist genocide of millions of Buddhists and more recently the Taliban’s destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas. In the same way that India is preserving Tibet through facilitating its cultural representatives and guaranteeing the free practice of Tibetan culture, it is that same India that is and will guarantee freedom to all Kashmiris. Like it or not, accept it or reject it, the truth of the matter remains that it is India's 'Hinduness' that guarantees its inclusivity for all its citizens. History confirms this fact. Pakistan confirms this fact. Thus an organization of Hindus based on this very same life-affirming Hindu ethos is the guarantee that freedom and liberty will stand for all. JUDGE, JURY, AND THE HANGMAN DEVATAS Another disturbing trend amongst some is the assumption that they have the right to be judge, jury, and the hangman. They issue statements as to the 'true nature' of others. They declare, with no proofs, that Hindu civilization is unworthy and obviously too inferior to be allowed entry into the halls of academia, governments and public polity. Straitjacketing Hindus with the baggage of that epitome of European supremacy, Hitler's Nazism, the anti-Hindus stumble over themselves. After nearly 500 years of elite European supremacy dominating the world, Hitler's Nazi movement was seen as the ultimate and final avatar of white global domination. The RSS however was formed with the goal of uniting society as the first step towards freedom from this very same white supremacist’s domination. It was actually a response against Great Britain’s Hitler-esque domination that had engulfed the world. It is a great irony, indeed, that a massive native movement that was developed as a defense against continued European domination is now being labeled as an Indian form of this very same fascist domination. So we see that the indigenous Hindu resurgence is an obvious threat to those attempting to maintain Islamic or colonial and western domination of India. This very same native resurgence has been building for 500 years. Labeling this indigenous response to fascism as fascism is simply another weapon in the arsenal of those dedicated to the destruction of the world's remaining indigenous cultures. BHAKTI AS HATE THE GITA AS A RIP-OFF Recently, an antagonistic writer attempted to present the positivity of India’s bhakti movements as a negative. In his eyes rather than a blossoming of the heart, Bhakti is merely a negative response towards others. It's similar to labeling the blossoming love in the heart of a young maid as nothing more than a sign of domestic frustration. Obviously the writer is not a practicing bhakta or his view on bhakti could never be so dark. The bhakti movement is not indo-centric. It always has been and is still a global phenomenon. Attempts to straitjacket bhakti as nothing more than a frustrated response are quite cynical to say the least. Some scholars state that bhakti developed, not from true communion within the mystical framework and experiences of the Bhakta, but rather merely as a response to the oppression of the Brahmans. They also claim that the Gita was an interpolation and again as judge, jury and hangman declare it has nothing more than a rip-off of Buddhism. Many such views are actually based on an atheistic outlook that sees all human development as some sort of survival of the fittest struggle. As an almost perfect match with Hitler's views of history it is strange to see these same people attempts to label traditional Hindus as Nazis. In this view bhakti must've been born out of oppression rather than from a sense of dedication, inspiration and devotion. The Gita, rather than being what it says it is, is merely an attempt to regain power from the hands of the Buddhist. Rather than being an anti-Brahman backlash nearly every major Indian bhakti movement was based on the inspiration and leadership of Brahmin born individuals. Be it Brahmin born Bhakti leaders like Madhva, Ramanuja, Shankara, Nimbarka, Caitanya etc for them Bhakti was based on love of all for all. The very essence of the bhakti tradition is glorified in the Bhagavat Purana. This ancient tome to Bhakti, the Bhagavat Purana is full of verses praising the Brahmans. The theory that a Bhakti movement allegedly against Brahmans churned out thousands of pro-Brahman tracts glorifying the Brahmans does not fit the evidence nor make any sense. The Bhagavat Purana reveals again and again that a Brahmin is a Brahmin by quality and not by birth. The Gita states it clearly when it says that Varna or caste is decided by one's guna and karma or character and actions. The Gita also reveals the true meaning of the word Aryan. Yet this very source of the word Aryan is ignored by scholars and academics who claim knowledge and respect for the Gita. THEIR ARYANS ARE NOT OUR ARYANS Lord Krishna says in the Gita," How have these un-aryan feelings come upon you?" Krishna then spends the rest of the Gita explaining what true Aryan feelings are. His first lesson on being an Aryan... "You are not the body you are pure spirit." So obviously the first thing an Aryan learned was that he was not the body and thus racial identity was inconsequential to being an Aryan. Many other lessons on being an Aryan are given and never ever are the concepts of the racial Aryan presented. Thus in ancient Indian civilization being an Aryan meant fulfilling the role of the arisen and awakened Arjuna. Unfortunately the judge, jury and hangman of the learned ambivalent Hindu or anti-Hindu has decided, along with Hitler and his followers, that Aryans really were a race of arrogant, brutal death worshiping racial supremacists. Those of us who prefer to accept the views of the very authors of the term Arya are labeled as extremists and hate mongers. It is such a strange paradox. Those that believe the Aryans were ignoble racists in concurrence with the views of the genocidal Nazis are considered liberal and balanced. Those of us who believe the Aryans were noble people without regard to race, and accept the Aryans ancient testimonials regarding history and life are considered dangerous extremists. ANTI-HINDUS AND THE FUHRER’S VIEWS Coincidently if one were to put the views of the average anti-Hindu on a chart and compare them with the views of Adolph Hitler one would be challenged to find the difference. Both believe Aryans were a race. Both believe that all human development arose out of suffering and oppression. Both believe in the inferiority and superiority of one group over another. Both believe that Hinduism is a rotted atrophied and decaying blight on humanity. And both believe in the triumph of the will over the triumph of the spirit. Hinduism is the anti-thesis to Nazism and it is the epitome of fascism to label Hindus as such simply because they organize themselves. It is hoped that the time will come when intelligent people use their God-given logic to ascertain the facts. It is hoped that the truth which is eternal and immutable regardless of those who experiment with it, will clearly separate myth and history. As with the Aryan topic, the Bhakti phenomenon has been twisted into a dark nightmare of Marxist class struggle. Thus the love and devotion of bhakti becomes hate for Brahmans. These same people deny the existence of God yet forgot that like God, Love also can not be gauged or measured. Using the same ‘science’ that denies God we can also deny the existence of Love. Yet we all know that love is real and many have known that God is real as well. SUICIDE DECIDES? A scholar recently cited an Indian mystic named Jnaneshwar and his disappointment with people's attachment to form over substance. He quotes this hundreds of years old view as if it's some startling revelation. The fact is, this is basic Bhakti 101. It is the view that every Vaishnava child learns in their early education. Referring to Jnaneshwar's suicide as some kind of proof of Hinduism's innate incompatibility with a functioning society is a strange perspective. Committing suicide is unhealthy and speaks more towards that person's state of mind than it does the society around them. If it were truly Hindu society and culture that were to blame for his suicide than surely all the great minds of India should have simply committed suicide. Or maybe this scholar is simply saying that amongst India's thousands of saints, gurus, acharyas and leaders only Jnaneshwar is worthy of honor because he killed himself in a fit of disgust with Hinduism. RETROACTIVE GUILT Many anti-Sangh writers use a Gowalkar quote to prove his Nazi-ness. The quote specified was from 1939. This was before World War II began, before the Holocaust etc. At that time Hitler was seen by many as a successful and brilliant statesman. In fact the King of England was forced to abdicate due to his admiration of Adolph Hitler. Netaji, himself, went and lived in Hitler's Germany. The fact is Hitler was beloved by billions of people around the world for the simple reason that he was an enemy of the British Empire. So this out of context use of Gowalkar’s allegedly pro-Hitler quote should be dismissed as nothing more than an attempt to Nazify Gowalkar. It is an out of context statement and is irrelevant to the ebb and flow of history. An oft-repeated claim also leveled at the RSS and the Sangh Parivar is that its very foundation is based on hatred of other religions. This is an untenable outlook. Hatred is unsustainable. It is similar to the foolish notion that Al Qaeda is merely motivated by hatred for the West; the idea that hate is the foundation of anything is shallow. Hate just cannot carry a cause far enough or long enough to achieve sustainability. Those groups or individuals that truly have hate as their chief component are soon dissipated. We see Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao etc. no matter how powerful they always fail. LOVE AND HATE More powerful than hate is love; more sustaining than death is life. Sustenance is maintained by dedication and devotion rather than desperation and suppression. Yet the majority of mainstream academics claim that human history is an ongoing tragedy of hate, death, desperation and suppression. An honest appraisal of Indian history, in particular, shows that love, life, dedication and devotion are at the foundation and at the very fabric of Hindu civilization. Therefore the idea that a group of 300 million people rooted in a historically fair, nonviolent and equitable civilization that once spread, without war, from the Philippines to Persia has now morphed into a suffocating reality of hate is ridiculous. I ask,” By whose authority have these so-called experts denigrated 300 million fellow human beings into caricatures of hate and intolerance. That is not an ethical way to deal with differences of opinion. Different perspectives on important life issues are the normal state of affairs. Such disagreements should be presented with integrity and fairness. Those who depend on the fault lines of society in order to empower themselves are threatened by any indigenous response towards correcting such imbalances and fault lines. Thus you see the many harping on caste injustice. Not once will they admit that caste injustice is a problem that arose despite Hinduism. In fact every Hindu saint, Guru, Avatar and Hindu scripture repeatedly clarifies that caste is based on quality and not by birth. Yet when society disregards these very basic Hindu teachings and enforces a non-Vedic idea such as castism based on a bloodline, the anti-Hindu will point and blame the Hindu traditions. In other words, the very teaching being disregarded is accused of being the problem. Rather than recognizing that the real fault lies in society’s refusal to correctly apply the teachings in question they attack the disregarded tradition as the problem. Again logic reveals the true state of affairs. EFFECT SUPERCEDES THE CAUSE? It is also alleged that the Sangha Parivar were in ignored factor in Indian politics until their successful manipulation of fear. Yet this scenario beggars the question, "How were the Sangha activists able to gain any traction in stimulating the concerns of the citizens unless there is a basis to their claims?" Again logic proves that the initial injustices and dangers that threaten India are the real issue. It is impossible to harness people's concerns unless there is a matter of real import at hand. Yet again in the logic of the anti-Hindu the effect supersedes the cause. The machinations of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Britain, China and the many well funded terror groups are a reality. With a body count of approximately 120,000 dead in the ongoing War of Terror against India the world remains blind to her suffering. In the midst of an alleged Global War on Terror the world’s silence in this matter is deafening, alarming and highly suspicious. The reality is that India can be compared to a living organism. This organism has been attacked by disease and savaged in many ways. The Sangha Parivar are the antibodies dedicated to healing and repairing the organism that is India. However the anti-Hindus and the ambivalent Hindus are attacking the antibodies in the name of healing the patient and are thus part of India’s diseased condition. Like quack doctors they attack the symptoms of the bodies’ healthy response mechanism. Rather than facilitating the body's natural and healthy response the anti-Hindu forces jealously attempt to discredit India's homegrown indigenous power structure. In a home under siege it is natural to rise up and make a stand. Some say India is a land of contradictions yet present studies that prove otherwise. K.S. Singh's study was recently used to show that India's people, despite everything, are one after all. He states that India is like a honeycomb. It is harmonious. This fact is something known, recognized and cultivated by all dedicated Hindu traditionalists. Yet here the study was used as an attempt to say that India is not really Hindu in nature. A scholar recently stated that India is merely a bunch of contradictions while at the same time presenting Singh’s study that it wasn’t. Once again logic and truth are the casualties as efforts are made to discredit the authenticity of Hinduism. India is a clearly identifiable place and its people are as well regardless of the discombobulating tactics of those committed to the de-hinduization of the Indian Nation. COWS, BRAHMANS, DOGS AND DOG EATERS It has been stated that the Gita is full of contradictions and critiques of the call for peace on a battlefield have been leveled. Obviously they do not recognize that life is a struggle overall. The Bhagavad Gita is therefore presented in the midst of that struggle of all struggles, a war! Attempts have been made to label Krishna’s call to follow one’s dharma as a promotion of caste hierarchy. This proves a deep lack of comprehension of the Bhagavad Gita. Rather than an entrapment into casteism it is a call to be honest to one’s true nature. Thus Krishna says it's better to do your duty imperfectly than to do another’s duty perfectly. Krishna clearly says it is quality and one's activities and not birth that decides one's place in the caste system. The Gita also emphatically states that a truly learned person sees all as the same, sama-darshana. A dog and a Brahmin, a dog-eater and a cow are to be seen as equal. The Gita can never be accurately considered as a testament to caste hierarchy. The evidence shows the opposite. One may as well say hot means cold or that white really means black. How one can turn such a liberated view into a form of oppression is startling to say the least. The Gita does not support such prejudiced views. The Gita is not merely a rip-off of Buddhism nor was it a last-ditch effort to gain political power in ancient India. It's quite telling when one analyzes such anti-Hindu views. It is claimed that Bhakti was born out of resentment, the Gita from rivalry, Hindu unity out of hatred, and one anti-Hindu writer recently labeled dedicated traditionalists as practitioners of a ‘harsh personal morality’. Many paint Hindu dedication into an ugly portrait of cultural suffocation. THE POLITICAL PROVOCATEUR In the political field it is extremely difficult to sift the truth from the lies, the worthy from the unworthy and the profound from the profane. Political affiliation is enough to make or break friendships and alliances. One truly never knows the depth of the waters one treads upon. Therefore it behooves us all to educate and inoculate ourselves against the many political assaults designed to empower some by disempowering the many. Generally political assaults are coached in fair sounding unbiased language designed to impress and intimidate. However a very slight scratching beneath the surface combined with a logical application of the facts is usually enough to expose the political agenda involved. Below are some of the key ingredients that reveal the ignoble methods of the agenda driven political provocateur. 1) A complete disconnect from the evident flow of history and the oft repeated patterns that reveal current realities. Thus many mainstream academics can not recognize history being repeated as the same oppressive forces of yesteryear continue their victimization of humanity. 2) Liberal use of extreme and emotional terms such as hate, supremacists, racists, evil etc. and ambivalent accusations such as ‘The RSS killed Gandhi” “Modi killed 2000 Muslims” while never providing proof to validate such intense, dangerous labels and accusations. 3) Use and abuse of beloved figures, scriptures and ideas presented completely out of context. This is done to disguise the true bias and prejudiced views of the author. The attempt is made to fool the reader into investing trust in the views being presented. Upon reading a Gandhi quote the Gandhi fan will subvert their own views in order to fit into the idealism of their idol. Knowing this, the anti-Hindu intentionally quotes Gandhi, the Gita, this Guru or Sant all in an attempt to confuse the reader and validate the disinformation being presented. 4) A complete lack of logic presented in a brilliant display of learned words full of questionable and erroneous conclusions. In this regard one is reminded of Lord Krishna’s statement to Arjuna, “While speaking learned words you are mourning for that which is not worthy of grief." In the same way intelligent people speak many learned words yet they are actually concerned for that which is not worthy of concern. Hinduism has and always will be good for India and the world. These are just some of the basic tactics used and a careful researcher is wise to avoid accepting such political provocateurs as a valid source of information. INDIA AS IT IS OR AS IT WAS? Another point that must be addressed is the various perspectives on the California textbook case. While the allegedly secular activists say that they wanted India to be presented as it is they forget that when dealing with history it is of paramount importance to present India as it was. The anti-Hindu refuses to allow a basic human right and the dignity to promote one's own traditions from within the tradition itself. This is a very basic right that has been built into America and it is sad indeed to see this right being savaged in the name of open-minded liberalism and secularism. The fact is all traditions, as with all individuals, have a legal right to present their own perspectives about themselves and their traditions to the world. This is especially important when it is being presented as fact that colors the perceptions and life views of young people. As Hindu civilization and ethics become more and more involved with the world at large, crucial questions arise. Is Hindu civilization truly worthy of the mantle of global leadership? Yet before this question is answered some have already judged Hinduism as unworthy. I ask, "When, where and by whom and why was it decided that Hindu civilization is unworthy to present an ethos of governance and leadership? By what authority has it been decided that the basic human rights of the world's a billion Hindus are irrelevant? Who, when, where was it ever proven that Hindu civilization is unworthy to have a place in academia, governance, mainstream media and in every other aspect of a functioning society? What is it about the other civilizational paradigms, such as Western, (both capitalism and communism,) Islamic, Secularism, Judeo Christian etc. that allows them a fair hearing and functionality within society at large? Ironically in a world that has been brutalized and savaged by these above-mentioned paradigms, Hinduism is the one authentically all-inclusive civilization capable of restoring global balance. Tragically it is being side lined and efforts to highlight Hindu-Vedic alternatives are being ignored, demonized and misunderstood. HARMONIOUS PAST AND AN EMPOWERED FUTURE A resurgent India, vibrant and confidant is a matter of great hope and promise. This promise is not only for the Hindus but for the entire world at large. The ongoing attempts to darken and sully this indigenous resurgence are a classic example of politics at its worst. Strangely as the anti-Hindus attempt to present themselves as open-minded freethinking people it is obvious that they are in reality self-appointed guardians of the atrophied old world mindset dedicated to maintaining the status quo. Perhaps it is Hindu civilization's natural growth and all inclusiveness that motivates those dedicated to a world without Hindus. Perhaps it is recognized that without campaigns designed to divert any further growth or mass public support, Hindu civilization will be recognized for what it truly is, "Humanity's most ancient, sustainable and ongoing cultural sequence. It was harmonious in the past, is strong in the present and is destined to empower our future. The various Hindu traditionalists and activists are the selfless servants of the world at large. Hindu civilization represents the guaranteed future hope of an arisen and awakened humanity. It has been with us from the beginning of time and its foundation on Love, Dedication and Inspiration assures us that it will be with us forever. OM TAT SAT HARIH OM
