" ... those who are really serious about human life should take to the mode of goodness and in good association transcend the modes and become situated in Krishna consciousness."( Bg. 14.15 Purport ) The most important aspect in elevation to the mode of goodness ( and further to Krishna consciousness ) is transcendental knowledge. One should have faith that simply by acting in KC one can attain this knowledge. Faith comes from the discharge of devotional service by following the instructions of guru, sadhu & sastra in the company of devotees. That will free one from all doubts. " Only unto those great souls who have implicit faith in both the Lord and spiritual master are all the imports of Vedic knowledge automatically revealed."( Svetasvatara Up.6.38 ) Transcendental knowledge is the mature fruit of devotional service, it brings peace by enabling one to see things as they are, there is no more hankering or lamenting. In the 13th chapter of Bhagavad-Gita Lord Krishna states what he condiders to be real knowledge. And as far as my present situation is concerned the most important seems to be attaining : kshanti ( tolerance ), sthariyam ( steadiness ) and acarya-upasanam ( approaching a spirital master. When impediments on the path of devotional service appear "... we should be tolerant and continue our progress with determination."( Bg. 13.8-12 Purport ) Accepting a bona fide spiritual master must take place in one's heart for as Srila Prabhupada used to say : " The mercy is there but one should be eager to take it".
